Mom's aren't allowed to be sick

So as today progressed I felt more and more sick. I have a cold! Stuffy, achy and tired.

J and I went to Target today. It felt good to get out of the house. J fell asleep on the way home. He slep for a bit. After awhile he was just playing and then said he had an accident. I figured he just peed. Here is the TMI part......Lets just say the antibiotics are giving him an upset stomach and there was no stopping what came out. It wasn't bad. Then he was hungry and wanted dinner. This consisted of a peice of cheese, a cracker and a bit of yogurt. He hasn't been eating much. Then I heard Oh no mommy! Ok so there was a bit more and running down his leg. Ok time for pull ups and new pants. (this was starting to get gross). Now I am trying to brown some ground beef for dinner and then I hear "mommy my pull up!" Lets just say this was the blow out! Pull up, pants, running down leg onto floor. EWWWWWW! Luckily we were in the kitchen. I just stood there like now what. I would have taken him straight up to the bath but he was dripping. My laundry room is right there so I stuck him in the laundry tub and told him to just stand there while I clean up the floor.

Fast forward an hour later and we are taking a bath. He was having a great ole time. See we only have 1 tub and it is our big soaker tub. J takes showers since we didnt want to get in the habit of using it. When he had a fever we gave him a bath. Well now he loves it, of course. We will have to maybe make it a once a week thing. Showers are nice and clean!!! Anyways....sorry, I get carried away sometimes....while he is playing all of a sudden he stands up and FARTS!! NOOOOOOOO! EWWWWWWW It was THAT kind of fart! OMG please..no more. Did we forget mommy was feeling like crap now (no pun intended, LOL). So into the shower he goes, daddy washing him while I gather up all the tub toys and get the bleach.

Somehow we muster up the strength to always take care of everyone else and we always seem to come last. Guess who won't be going to school tomorrow now and stuck home with a sick mommy. UGGGGGH! I need a vacation!

Oh to be loved

So when you child is sick they are like Velcro. Stuck on you all day (for the last 5 days). They want you to sit with them and watch their shows with them. They snuggle, cough and wipe their snot on you. MMM. As the evening wears on you are anxiously watching the clock cause it is almost bed time. You need peace and everyone to leave you alone! You are trying to get him to put away his toys and get upstairs. Then your husband stops you in your tracks goes in for the grope, hand up shirt. Squeeze.squeeze...knead...knead..I now seem to have become a loaf of bread. I get the "oh I haven't done this is while" comment. Ya I haven't been touched in a while either babe! I stand there like a pole waiting for it to be over. Are you done yet? Can we get the kid to bed now, PLEASE?

Feelin' better!

It is amazing what a little antibiotic will do....

Yesterday evening he was still coughing so much. He actually threw up from coughing so hard. That was gross. But I was talking to one of my friends on YIM who is a nurse and she said they give benadryl a lot to calm the coughing down. That worked great. He hardly coughed the whole night. He was a very different kid today and by this evening was starting to jump around like crazy...of course that made him cough...so we made him relax. I feel like we can actually go out tomorrow. Besides the Dr. yesterday and stoppng at the store for the prescription..I haven't left the house since Thrusday. UGGH!

I am still fighting a scratchy throat. I hope that is all it is. Sorry I have nothing intersting to say. My brain is numb. I think I have just watched too many episodes of Backyardigans and Diego the last 5 days.

Off to the Dr.

He coughed all night. I am one tired mamma! Luckily he only has an ear infection in his right ear and a bad cough. He did get an antibiotic so hopefully he will be feeling better in a day or so. I think we are both so bored! He obviously won't be going to school tomorrow. Hopefully he will feel good enough that we can do a little project or something. I just hope he gets a better night sleep tonight.

I am not sick yet! I have a bit of a scratchy throat and have had a bad headache the last few days. Please don't let me get sick!!!

The Weekend

Is not fun! J came down with a fever on Thursday after I picked him up from my moms. Looks like he got Daddy's flu. Friday his fever was 103! So he has felt like crap the whole weekend. I have been stuck in the house. I couldn't even go anywhere cause I have no money left for the month. Can't visit anyone cause they think I have cooties. I hope I don't get it!! I will probably take him to the Dr. tomorrow since he has had fever for 4 days and a pretty bad cough. Last time he had walking pneumonia! He probably won't go to school on Tues..which I will also have to cancel the playday with a boy in his class as well. It got cancelled last week because he was sick. Oh well.

Here are a few comments he got from TV (noggin)

I had TP in the hallway upstairs to bring down. When I was in the bathroom he took them all out and stacked them one on top of the other (like 6 rolls). When I came out he said. "mommy look...the leaning tower of toilet paper!" (this he would have gotten from Wonder Pets)

On Thursday he was talking to my mom about the two new foods he has tried and she was commenting on how big and strong it would make him. His comment to her was "aren't you impressed?" This I believe is from Moose A Moose telling Zee that his is impressed with something.

Speaking of the new foods...figures he gets sick right after and goes into I'm not eating mode. So now we are struggling just to get something in his belly. How does it go? One step forward, two steps back? UGGH!
Jack always wants me to pick him up. He is getting heavy so I try not to. Since he has been sick he wants to even more. He was wathing Dirty Jobs with T the other day. They were at an aligator farm. So now I have to pick him up all the time because the aligators are going to get him.

Isn't it Purty!!!!

I love my new look! I want to send a huge thanks to my friend Suzanne for doing this for me. I was very indecisive and I am sure drove her nuts. So thank you for also being patient with me.

In other news....could it BE any colder!!. This morning I was debating whether I should shower because it snowed last night and the driveway needed cleaning. I decided I would wait and shower after I snowblowed. Then I came down and let the dog out. Man it was cold...so I checked my computer and it was -6! HUH! Then it said the high today was 8. No way was I doing the driveway...thank goodness it didn't snow a lot because now it will have to wait. So in the shower I went! I have a sore throat! These other people in the house (T & J) think that they can get the mommy sick. Remember guys??? Moms aren't allowed to get sick.

My mom picked up J from preschool today so I can get some work done. Woops...I guess I am blogging. Well I just got too excited because of my new look! Thank for watching him mom!!!

First Dentist Visit

Well it went pretty well. He wasn't nervous or anything. As soon as we walked in the door to the office though he said he was hungry. When I told he he couldn't have anything then I got the attitude. When we went back he wanted to know what everything was and very slowly climbed into the chair. They turned a TV on so that kept him busy. She asked him about putting the bib on and he replied "no, I don't wear bibs" Even after she showed him how it went on on her he just said "no, thank you". He was pretty good for the hygenist. He opened right up and let her look around. Then she scrapped some of the brown off his teeth. He was good for this but "couldn't see the TV" Then she asked him what kind of paste he wanted because he was going to use the teeth tickler. She named all the flavors and his reply after each was "NO"! Well he didn't like the word paste and said "no I don't like paste" I picked grape and had her start. At first he was fine with the polisher until he tasted the paste about 15 seconds into it. Well he proceeded to swallow it then spit all over his shirt. Nice! She used the water squiter for a rinse and that caught his interest. We managed to bribe him a few more times to clean a couple more teeth, but he really was done. Plus she didn't want him to swallow anymore. Then the dentist had to come in to just take a look and count them. He really was done at this point and didnt want to open up. He was busy watching TV. She got him to open one last time and we were done. They said he really did do good for his first time. He opened his mouth! My little stinker didn't even want to pick a toothbrush and because there were no trains in the prize bin he passed. This kid...I tell ya!

J has also found a new friend at school, Michael. He talks about him all the time. He likes trains too. Finally I decided to call his mom to see if they can have a play date. His mom said that he talks about J all the time too. She even said she talked to one of the teacher and she even mentioned that these two have become good buddies. It is a good feeling to know that they can bond with someone. He was suppose to have their playdate yesterday but Michael was sick. Jack was sad that he wasn't in school.

Oh ya, one more thing....Yesterday he said "Mommy you are my best friend". Just melts the heart!

And another thing....my friend Stacey is in remission!!! Woo Hoo!!!! She got the good news the other day. Her platelets are way uptoday as well. She is really hoping she can go home this week. She hasn't been home since Dec 15th. Her next step is the bone marrow transplant, but she had to meet with special Dr.s for that. Please keep her in your prayers!

OMG He Ate Something New!

So today I had to go downtown for a deposition. So dumb by the way. Something that happened at work in 2004! I can't tell you how much I hate going downtown.

Anywhoooo....T was home with J. T has the flu so it worked out that my mom didn't have to get up at the butt crack of dawn to come over here. So T tells me he had a talk with J at lunch about not getting big if he doesn't start to eat different foods. This really has been an ongoing conversation in our house, but I guess because Mommy wasn't home he actually listened to him??? Maybe...because he got him to eat LUNCHMEAT!!! It was roasted chicken. OMG I can't believe it. It was just little pieces of it but he ate some, asked for more and then when I got home had a few more pieces!! I was shocked.

So fast forward to dinner time. This can't possible work twice in the same day can it? I made spaghetti. Jack likes Parmesan cheese so I thought if he had noodles he could dip in it that might work. At first he was like no until I cut little pieces of the spaghetti and he tried it. He actually ate a few tablespoons worth!!!! I am so proud of my baby!!!! I know I can't overwhelm him with new things all the time but I think he understand (hopefully) now that he has to taste it once. I would like to at least have the one bite or actually 3 bite rule. I am sure tomorrow he won't do it at all, but hey it was at least a step in the right direction.

J seems like he is getting a cold too. He was stuffy tonight but still running around. If he doesn't have a fever in the morning I will probably still send him to school.

Stay tuned.... a new look is coming soon to my blog. It is almost done. I am so excited!!!

Ahh the big hair!

The year was 1991. This was my nephews christening. Look at the big hair and the big white hoop earrings. This is T's favorite picture of me. He had it with him all during college (we went to separate schools) then he lost it. My mom had one and gave it to him in a frame a few years ago at Christmas. It sits on his desk in his office. I just thought I would share. At the time...this was one of my better pictures! Tee hee..

Wanna know something else...see those couches, well actually loveseat. There are two of them. This pic was taken at my moms house. I hate to admit it, but those couches are sitting in my living room. When we moved in this house 8 years ago she gave them to me. They hardly ever sat on them so they were in perfect condition. Navy blue with a tan square pattern. They are the most comfy loveseats. I had a plan to decoate the living room over 3 years ago (pre J). Bought these really nice red couch covers and new pictures for the walls. Well the pictures are on the wall...that is it. It is now over 3 yrs later and this is what my living room looks like...

Well there is one couch...you can see the nice picture on the wall that goes great with my red couch covers. And why don't I just put them on the couches? No reason...except I was waiting to "do" the room. There is this honkin entertainment center on the other side that I need to sell on Craigs list. Haven't done that either. It used to be in our family room until we got the TV on the wall (best ever!) So this room is on my to do list this year. All I really have to do is sell the entertainement center and paint. It will still stay a play room. It is just convenient. And for those of you who have heard me talk about J and his trains...there you have it, the precious track. This has grown much bigger since Christmas. Now he asking for more trains for his b-day that isn't until May...he asks me at least 3 times a day. Only 104 days left to hear about it!!!

Week Update

Has it really been a week since I posted? Opps! What the heck did I do all week? Lets see

Monday - Oh geeze...this was "I am the worst friend ever" day. The previous Friday I had talked to my BEST friend and her Grandma has past away. Well I thought about it for about 30 min and was gone from my brain. Monday morning I call her like I always do after the weekend and she didn't answer. So I leave her the "just wanted to see how your weekend was" message. I headed up to the shower and was thinking where was she at 9:10 in the morning..then the light bulb went off with a loud gasp from me. I rushed out of the shower and called her SIL (friend because of IVF and adoption). She was like I was wondering where you were last night at the WAKE! The funeral is today at 10...look at clock...it is 10:05!!! OMG, OMG...how do I fix this. She is my best friend and I wasn't there. OMG OMG. She mentions I probably still have time to make it to the cemetery. I call DH, he says the same thing. There was lots of craziness...but bottom line is I did make it. She was surprised to see me there and I was so upset with myself. She invited me to the luncheon. It was nice. I still doesn't make up for forgetting. That is SOOO not me. I am the planning, organized queen. There is no excuse.

Tuesday - Back to school!!! YEAH!!! Oh do I wish it was longer than 2.5 hrs. I did get my hair done...boy did I need it. I was starting to look a little skanky!

Wednesday - Yeah my cleaning lady came! House was a mess from Christmas. I also grocery shopped. What an exciting day.

Thursday - Yeah school again. Again, not long enough! LOL Then I thing we just hug around the house.

Friday - today was raining and a good day to just hang out at home. We played trains all day...fun stuff. My mom came by for a visit. She doesn't come over enough. We always seem to go over there. I love it when she comes.

Things with our businesses are starting to pick up a bit so I do make trips to the UPS store and USPS quite a bit too. We fit those in after rest time in the afternoon.

Wow that is my exciting week!

I also wanted to add some special prayers for my friend Stacey. She is not having an easy time right now. She had to go in for a few more days of Chemo and they really kicked her butt. She is so weak and sick from it. I feel just horrible and wish I could help her. With Chemo it gets so bad before it gets better. I pray she finds the strength to get thru this.

I pee'd on the dog!

Warning...TMI post!!

"Mom I got to go poops"...as I heard from the laundry room. So as usual I stop what I am doing to open the bathroom door, put the potty seat on the toilet, pull down his pant and place his butt on the seat. I then resume the switching of laundry. Then I hear "mom I pee'd on the floor AND the dog!" You did what???? I go in..pee all over the floor...all over the side of the dog...as the dog is now licking the pee off the floor. MMMM tasty. He said he was so sorry. J had a REALLY bad habit of peeing when he is pushing out #2. If he is busy pushing..he couldn't possibly push his peter down into the toilet. That is too hard I am told. So we have the fountain of pee! Now what was the dog doing there? Well following the scent of course. My fault I guess for not closing the door!

So I rush to get the dog out of there. I grab a clorox wipe quick and just get the side of him quick. Then grab the stuff to wipe off the floor cause I can't go in there without stepping on it. J is one of those that AS SOON as he is done if you don't wipe him right away he hollars at you to wipe him until you do. So now I am trying to wipe the floor as he is yelling "wipe me, wipe me". (starting to loose it) As soon as I wipe him he makes a run for it with his naked butt. Then I have to get him back into the the bathroom to dress and wash his hands.

So now I figure I have to wash the dog. He was due anyways. I wash him in the laundry tub. Then over the dryer and the water noise I hear..."hurry there is more, it's coming!" Well crap the dog is in the tub so I rush to do the routine...door, seat, pants, butt... I then hurry up with the dog as J is yelling at me to wipe his butt again. This time it was burning his butt...too bad cause the dog is soaked. As I am drying the dog I also get "I'm hungry mamma" I finally get the dog dry enough to let him go and go wipe the butt. The dog then runs to the carpet for his normal bath routine of tackling the towel...only to find me not coming and is just staring at me like what the heck..where is the fun and my treat?

OMG that just exhausted me...this all happend about 40 min ago. And I just had to stop so J could pee....again! Ahh the life of a mother!

Ok this just sucks!

This means that only 5 days of Log in Dates (LID's) were done this month. They are supposed to be doing more by now...not less than the last two months. Seriously, we won't see out little girl until 2010...if we are lucky!

Tonights Bedtime Conversation

We were reading the book "Tummy Mommy." It is an adoption book that we have read before. One of the pages talks about an empty cradle that they wanted to fill. The couples face was sad, but he thought it was angry. So the conversation goes like this.

J- Why is he angry

M- He's not, he is sad cause they want a baby and need to find a special woman that will give them one.

J- oh wait...like you found a special lady named L*

M- Yes, sweetie just like her.

J- Oh ya I came out of her tummy. We were are the hospital and I just came out.

M- Yes sweetie

J- So how does the baby come out? out of the tummy or her mouth or what???

M- (thinking, OMG do I really have to have this conversation with him) Well....(long pause)...some babies come out of a mommy's private parts and some come out of the tummy. The Dr. has to cut the mommy here (showing him) and they take the baby out

J- Does it hurt when they cut the mommy's tummy? (thankful he didn't ask about the private part)

M- Well they give them special medicine so they don't feel it.

J- Then do they put the tummy back together?

M- *snicker* yes they do

J- How do they do that

M- Well they use stiches or staples

J- From a stapler??

M- Well ya kinda but it is special for dr's to use.

J- Oh ok

Then I finish the book. There is the words "tender care" in the end and of course it just turns into.."mommy sometimes a coal car is also called a tender." Believe me he can always find way to get the conversation back to trains.

Whew...that one was stressful!!
