First Dentist Visit

Well it went pretty well. He wasn't nervous or anything. As soon as we walked in the door to the office though he said he was hungry. When I told he he couldn't have anything then I got the attitude. When we went back he wanted to know what everything was and very slowly climbed into the chair. They turned a TV on so that kept him busy. She asked him about putting the bib on and he replied "no, I don't wear bibs" Even after she showed him how it went on on her he just said "no, thank you". He was pretty good for the hygenist. He opened right up and let her look around. Then she scrapped some of the brown off his teeth. He was good for this but "couldn't see the TV" Then she asked him what kind of paste he wanted because he was going to use the teeth tickler. She named all the flavors and his reply after each was "NO"! Well he didn't like the word paste and said "no I don't like paste" I picked grape and had her start. At first he was fine with the polisher until he tasted the paste about 15 seconds into it. Well he proceeded to swallow it then spit all over his shirt. Nice! She used the water squiter for a rinse and that caught his interest. We managed to bribe him a few more times to clean a couple more teeth, but he really was done. Plus she didn't want him to swallow anymore. Then the dentist had to come in to just take a look and count them. He really was done at this point and didnt want to open up. He was busy watching TV. She got him to open one last time and we were done. They said he really did do good for his first time. He opened his mouth! My little stinker didn't even want to pick a toothbrush and because there were no trains in the prize bin he passed. This kid...I tell ya!

J has also found a new friend at school, Michael. He talks about him all the time. He likes trains too. Finally I decided to call his mom to see if they can have a play date. His mom said that he talks about J all the time too. She even said she talked to one of the teacher and she even mentioned that these two have become good buddies. It is a good feeling to know that they can bond with someone. He was suppose to have their playdate yesterday but Michael was sick. Jack was sad that he wasn't in school.

Oh ya, one more thing....Yesterday he said "Mommy you are my best friend". Just melts the heart!

And another thing....my friend Stacey is in remission!!! Woo Hoo!!!! She got the good news the other day. Her platelets are way uptoday as well. She is really hoping she can go home this week. She hasn't been home since Dec 15th. Her next step is the bone marrow transplant, but she had to meet with special Dr.s for that. Please keep her in your prayers!
